Centenary Action welcomed the establishment of the new Access to Elected Office steering group, which aims to support disabled candidates and explore funding for disability related costs. Along with our partners The Disability Policy Centre, Disability Rights UK and Elect Her we have long campaigned for the reestablishment of funding for disabled candidates. Most recently it was a key recommendation in our report Breaking down barriers: Empowering disabled women in politics which we shared with the Minister for Disabled People and other key decision makers.
