Our mission
Our mission
To eliminate the barriers preventing women, in all their diversity, from participating in politics by fostering collaboration, joint action, and campaigning to enhance women’s political representation in the UK.
Centenary Action advocates for the development, improvement and implementation of laws and policies that reduce or remove the barriers to women’s political participation, including:
- The violence, harassment and abuse that politically active women face on and offline;
- The economic inequalities that prevent women from engaging in decision-making;
- The culture and practices within politics that deter and exclude women.
Our values
Centenary Action unites the women’s rights sector across political divides, demonstrating the power of sisterhood. Guided by equality, respect, inclusivity, courage, and compassion, we amplify the voices of all women, especially those facing additional barriers to political participation.
Committed to breaking down discrimination and systemic obstacles, we provide a space for constructive dialogue across the political spectrum, fostering collaboration in pursuit of shared goals.
Theory of change
Our strategy
Established in 2018, we have a 10 year mission to deliver a gender equal Parliament by 2028. Over the last few years we’ve come a long way. But there’s still more to be done. The focus of our strategy is to mobilise our coalition to highlight and tackle the barriers that prevent women, in all their diversity, from putting themselves forward and being elected. You can read about our recent achievements in our annual review and about our future plans in our Centenary Action three year plan.
