On Wednesday 13th September, in collaboration with Elect Her, Disability Policy Centre and Disability Rights UK, we held two online roundtables on ‘What do disabled women candidates want to see in the Government’s Disability Action Plan?’. We heard from Fazilet Hadi, Head of Policy at Disability Rights UK, about the success of the previous EnAble Fund for disabled candidates and Dr Sarabajaya Kumar from the Centenary Action Steering Group shared her experiences as a disabled woman in politics and how she set up the Disabled Women in Politics Network. Attendees then shared their experiences and suggestions to help us to formulate a joint response to the Government’s Disability Action Plan consultation.
